Not a spelling or grammatical error, but so appallingly sloppy that it deserved special attention.

Diffuse or defuse the turf war?
A potentially explosive, violent, confrontational or contentious situation is defused. If it is being diffused, it is slowly spreading and permeating its surroundings.

How Uber keep data
At first I thought this was part of that annoying trend to treat the word "data" as a plural noun (and "datum" as the singular, as if we're speaking Latin), but that still wouldn't explain the lack of agreement between the singular "Uber" and plural verb conjugation "keep". So now I think it's just sloppy editing.

LCBO offers 49% or 51% discount on booze to diplomats?
For a $100 purchase, paying 49% of the retail price would translate into a cost of $49, but a 49% discount would mean $49 off, for a final price of $51.
Maybe not a big difference in price, but a big difference in meaning.

Reigning in police costs
Just when I thought I could take down this blog...

"Reign" means the rule of a sovereign; "rein" are the straps used to guide a horse. Both imply a degree of control, but the saying "reining in [something]" calls for an analogy to pulling back an advancing horse, not changing something by royal proclamation.
